In our beautiful Arrow Lake Valley there are approximately
eighty edible wild mushrooms. Most mushrooms can be found
for only a limited time, usually either Spring or Fall. Each
species of wild mushrooms has it's own habitat. All
mushrooms grow at different elevations, some as high as 5000
feet. They grow on trees, on the ground and on fallen wood.
Many are difficult for the untrained eye to see. Most
mushrooms grow under second growth forest. The mushrooms
grow singularly, in groups or in clusters.

Morel
Mushrooms
Mushrooms served are picked by experienced mushroom pickers.
Knowing the difference between the mushrooms before picking
and eating them is essential. After tasting the wild
mushrooms, most people find the domestic mushroom bland and
uninteresting.
